Attorney William Cane and Manhattan Makeovers have helped more than 3,000 clients look good onstage, on film, on television, and in courtrooms, boardrooms, and country clubs around the world. Mr. Cane (the pen name of Michael Christian) has directed more than a hundred stage, film, and television productions, including The Art of Kissing and the Off-Off-Broadway musical Meet the Real Ernest Shackleton.
His time-tested approach involves working one-on-one with professionals to help them project an effective image for television, stage, courtroom, or personal interactions with clients and colleagues.
Mr. Cane leads a highly-trained team of image consultants to help transform clients. He interviews clients and ensures that they are seen by the best of his support staff. Women are introduced to hair stylists and professional makeup artists who have worked with celebrities, and men are introduced to stylists and tailors who have the skill to make a man more effective at work.
In addition, William Cane has compiled extensive research about the wardrobe of artists, writers, and musicians, and he guides creative people who wish to redefine themselves with a signature look that is both appropriate and unique.
Author of the international bestseller The Art of Kissing, Mr. Cane’s other books include The Birth Order Book of Love, Write Like the Masters, Clubhouse Confidential, The New Testosterone Treatment (with Edward Friedman), and Sleeping Your Way to the Top: How to Get the Sleep You Need to Succeed (with Terry Cralle and W. David Brown). A lecturer in the speech, communications, and theatre arts department at the City University of New York-Borough of Manhattan Community College, Mr. Cane has appeared on more than a hundred radio and television shows, including CBS This Morning, The View, and Today. A widely sought after speaker on the international lecture circuit, he shares with his audience the research that his company has compiled about how to dress for success in business and professional environments.
